Here's a little history about me

and a photo...

I was born in Illinois and raised in Colorado. I have three brothers; one in California, one in Colorado and one in Tennessee. For the last twenty years I have resided on the central Oregon coast in the great Pacific Northwest. I am the only one of the four of us who was born with a bone disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, also known as "Brittle Bones".

I have a mild form of this disease. I am of average height. 5'5". Many people having more severe forms are short in stature ("Little People") and may be confined to wheelchairs or bedridden.

As a child, beginning at age three, I broke or fractured numerous bones. Feet, ankles, knees, wrists, vertebrae. After High School the fractures tapered off. Then at the age of 37 I slipped and fell on an icy driveway crushing my left hip and pelvis.

As a middle aged adult with this disease and a history of fractures I now find myself dealing with the effects of degenerative arthritis.

Luckily for now, I am still able to perform my job as a Floor Supervisor in the Table Games department of a Native American owned casino.

Tabby does not have OI but his life story serves as an inspiration to anyone who lives with a physical disability.
