Abigail's Place

Abigail

This is Abigail. I decided to name this site after her because she was the first doll that I assembled, dressed and wigged. She is 4" tall and was made from a kit, by Joy Parker of Swallowhill. Her kit name was Marguerite and I fell in love with her picture. The kit consisted of two arms, two legs, shoulders and a bald head with a hole in it. Included, were bits of ribbon and lace, pieces of fabric and leather, and a box with some wavy hair and long curls. Thank goodness, there were also patterns and instructions!

That was several years ago. Since that time, I've made Lauren, a thoroughly modern young lady, who I hope will one day have a house, complete with a husband and a baby. I've also tried my hand at making 1/4" scale dolls from polymer clay.

A prized possession is Emma (aka Emerald), one of Georgina Hanford Simmon-Gagnon's most beautiful dolls. Go take a look.

This site will also contain pages about dollhouses, miniatures and cats (believe it or not, they go together!)

It's February 8th, 2004 and I'm in the process of updating these pages so please come back again soon.
