The 112th fought with the First French Army in another bulge, called the Colmar Pocket. Not as well known as, the Battle of the Bulge, but described as a very tough time, just the same. They received the Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation for Extraordinary Heroism in Military Operations against an Armed Enemy. (see: memoirs of Clarence Blakeslee, Co.
