Nick Brice (1914-1979)
Infantry Scout: WIA: Mar. 6, 1945, near Schleiden.
Campaigns: * Hurtgen Forest * Colmar Pocket
* Battle of the Bulge * Rhineland
The Keystone shoulder patch of the 28th Division. Formerly
a Penn. National Guard Division, it was federalized during
the war. The Germans referred to them as: "Blutiger Eimer"
-- the Bloody Buckets.
These were good times!

The 112th fought with the First French Army in another bulge, called the Colmar Pocket. Not as well known as, the Battle of the Bulge, but described as a very tough time, just the same. They received the Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation for Extraordinary Heroism in Military Operations against an Armed Enemy. (see: memoirs of Clarence Blakeslee, Co. M, 112th)
