FLORIDA

Come Visit Florida!

Perhaps you would like to find treasure?

How could you name this coast anything but the Treasure Coast? Over 300 years ago, several ships of Spanish galleons carrying gold and silver are thought to have shipwrecked off the southeastern shore of Florida dumping their vast treasures into the ocean. Then, over 100 years ago, Palm Beach became a popular vacation destination of the rich and famous – coming by way of Henry Flagler's railroad. Many stayed... and you could say the rest is history.

The BEACH would be the place to take the metal detector
and search for the lost treasure...
We have beach...we have LOTS of beach!

The Florida Keys

As the winter chill sets records in much of the country, those in the know huddle around the pot-bellied stove-like monument marking the Southernmost Point in the United States.

The marker, actually built to resemble a bouy, stands at Mile 0 of US Highway 1. The monument notes that Cuba is only 90 miles away, and just to its right, a plaque commemorates the brave Cubans who have drowned trying to get to America, "The Leader In Democracy." In the blocks around the Monument are numerous other "Southernmosts" — hotel, house, restaurant, etc.

the Epcot Center and Theme Parks
