I really love guitars! For me they are like pets. I used to have around 20 guitars at the same time but after a while I realized that it was an expensive collection and that I needed to save for more important things in life.

My first guitar was a Maya SG which my parents bought for me in 2nd year high school. It didn't sound that great but it was very easy to play. I still have it right now. Next was an Ibanez Les Paul Gold Top which I got at a Segunda Mano shop. I love Segunda Mano shops! Sometimes you find the most awesome guitars there!

All my guitars during the 80s were Japanese made. They were cheap but great to play! There was only one guitar I bought that I didn't like so much. It was an Ibanez RG-550 with a Floyd Rose. I hate locking tremolos! I nearly threw that guitar against the wall because I had a hard time getting it in tune. When I was in London in 93, I promised myself I would buy a US Fender Strat. However, prices were so expensive that I ended up buying a Japanese Fender Strat which didn't make me happy. I have nothing against the Japanese Fender however if you're after a Fender, go for the real thing. The good original Japanese guitars are Ibanez, Tokai, and Greco. My first US made guitar was a Cream 76 Les Paul Custom now owned by Chuck Isidro of After Image. This guitar I used in recording "Batugan" with Shanghaied. I also had a Blue Fender Strat Plus Deluxe now owned by Kenneth Ilagan of Mulatto. I also had an emerald green PRS CE-22 carved-top with bird inlays which I used with Mystery for gigging and recording. I bought the PRS in the States in 97. It was actually the best guitar i've ever owned. I don't know why I sold it! Grrr!!!

Currently, I have a 1937 Gibson Super 400. Yup that's right! A real vintage one! Sorry i'm not selling it. I compared the sound to the most expensive Martins and Taylors in Guitar Center and i'm proud to say it doesn't come close to mine! I also have a 1971 Greco ES-335 which sounds really great for blues, jazz and rock! Also a 1999 Fender Strat American Series which is my main axe. A Hagstrom H-IIN which is a very cool punk guitar! And lastly, a double-neck guitar which I assembled! I'm saving up for a new PRS. I really miss that guitar...
