The Defectors Fantasy Baseball league began in 1999 with 15 teams, all fighting for this,
The Defectors Cup.
Those of us who are original defectors left (defected) one league that we were fed up with and created our own league. There weren't enough of us who left at
first to create an entirely new league so we had to get enough teams to bring the number up to 15.
The league almost collapsed over the off season between 1999 and 2000, there were some major disagreements over points systems and there were many teams who left, one of which we couldn't have done any of this without, the Granville Yankees. Mario, this teams manager was the one who got everyting togeather and formed the league. So those of us who wanted to stick it out kept sending him e-mails untill he came back.
We are now going strong coming up to the beginning of our 4th season, with new challenges
to come and new teams to bring into the mix. But we will make the most of it and
continue this, the greatest fantasy league that I have ever had the fourtune in being
a part of, The Defectors.
