1983-Helped lead Redskins to Superbowl.
1986-Posted a career high 18 sacks in Pro Bowl year.
1987-Helped lead defense to Super Bowl and recorded 1 1/2 sacks in the Super Bowl.

Arguably the best pass rushing defensive end of all time, Dexter Manley's career was unfortunately cut short by a cocaine addiction. During the 80's a universally feared player, he had 65 sacks from 1982-1986 which was tops in the league during that timespan. In 1986 he finished second to Lawrence Taylor in sacks with 18. He retired as the Redskins all time sack leader. Even with all of the above accomplishments he could never shake the cocaine addiction. As sad of story that his is,he wrote a book about his own life with journalist Tom Friend in 1992 which I highly reccomend reading to grasp the true greatness of this player and his strength in fighting his addictive disease. After retiring from the NFL, Manley played a few seasons for the Ottawa Roughriders of the CFL. If anybody has any information about his days in the CFL, or any general Dexter info that is post-career please e-mail me.
