Once again a good effort by all and congratualations. A big congratulations to my son Drew as this is now his second State Title this year, good on ya matey.

Well Sempei's Mario and Jason and Drew (not a sempei....well not yet anyway) went to the Nationals this year and although no one brought home any throphies they gave it a go and made sure they knew that the guys from Kyu Shin Kai had competed.
A great job by all.

Only one entrant this time from the club and that was Drew Francis and he won his division (40-50kg div). He had a very spirited opponent but he come through with a win and another State Title and thats what counts. Congratulations Drew.

Sempei Mario 85-90kg Div - 1st Place
Sempei Mario was the only entrant from Kyu Shin Kai for this event and won his division. He fought one of the States most highly respected martial artists (Vince Palumbo) and beat him in the final which is a great credit to him and shows all the training Sempei Mario does, both in the Dojo and in his own time, has certainly paid off. I know that I speak for all of the students of Kyu Shin Kai in offering him a huge well done and CONGRATULATIONS!!

Well what a couple of weeks for Sempei Mario, first a big win against Vince Palumbo in the AMAA and then follows it up with not only a State Title in the point sparring in the NAS but also wins the SA NAS Martial Artist of the YEAR!
Congratulations Mario. Sempei Jason had a couple of 3rd placings and Drew followed up last years first place with a 2nd place. Donna and Mel also competed and although they didn't place in the top three they showed a big big improvement and I am tipping a something special from Mel within the next 12 months. But all in all a great effort by all the Kyu Shin Kai members this year at the state finals. Congratualations to you all!!!!

Well we had 4 competitors from Kyu Shin Kai go to the National Titles this year in Melbourne. Sempei Mario, Sempei Jason, Mel & Donna. Yes Sempei Mario is continuing on his merry way with another great win and National Title to his credit. He also teamed up with Sempei Jason and a couple of other fellows from the state team to get a second placing in the state team Point Sparring. Great effort I think. Mel and Donna also competed in the continuous and points divisions and done very well with a couple of wins in the points, no placings but just getting there and experiencing a nationals for the first time is a real buzz all the same..well I know it was even for me to see Drew compete for the last two years in them. Great job a a BIG well done to all of you and especially to SEMPEI MARIO. Now he and Drew and possibly a couple more from the club will be off to the world titles in October. So you never know we may just have a world title holder or two in the club. Lets hope so....WELL DONE EVERYONE.
