I prefer lager but I'm not averse to bitter, especially what we call "Real Ale" here in England. Out of all the lagers, my preference is for "Miller Pilsner", a UK derivative of the famous "Miller Lite" from the USA. It has a real fruity flavour compared to the dryness of other beers like "Carlsberg" and "Carling", etc. At 4.2% alcohol by volume it isn't quite as strong as the premium lagers so you don't fall down quite so easily either. If pushed I'd have to say that out of all bitters, there's a real ale called "Marston's Pedigree" from the Marston's Brewery in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. If this beer is looked after by the pub landlord, it's the creamiest, smoothest and tastiest pint you can hope to find. The problem occurs if the landlord doesn't really know how to manage real ales. (They all "think" they know how to - know what I mean?) Wow! - This is a difficult one. There are so many breweries and interesting sites I don't think my page is going to be big enough.
