My Life in 275 Words

I was born and raised in northern Indiana. Graduated from high school (1950) and promptly enlisted in the United States Air force. Was trained as a Airborne Radar Tech and sent to Korea for a thirteen month tour of duty, which turned out to be the worst year of my life.

Four years later, after an honorable discharge, I purchased a new 1956 Corvette; was introduced to downhill skiing; held a number of jobs in the electronic field, and attended Indiana University.

I terminated my formal education after 3 years to take a job at Bethlehem Steel Corp. electronic department, and shortly after this obtained a private aircraft license which made it possible to ski all Midwestern ski resorts on weekends.

I traded the ‘’56 vet for a new “63 Corvette Stingray and just as quickly meet my wife to be, Sharon. I asked, she said “yes” and we were married. She gave me a beautiful baby girl; we named her Renee’.

Sold the Corvette and built a home in a upscale subdivision. Finally got it furnished and was able purchase a Nissan 300 ZX. Took several interesting and very enjoyable vacations with my family including a five week tour of Europe. And then............O Boy! got the ultimate toy; a Hunter 33.5 sailboat.

Attended Sharon’s and Renee’s University graduations (memorable days). Then like things were going too good, on a cold rainy night in January 97, I lost my Nissan to a big oak tree. God do I miss that sports car! Recovered after four weeks in a hospital. Well, almost recovered; a kinky hip and scared lungs pushed me into retirement where I’ve nothing to do but sail the boat, drink Margaritas and attend Jimmy Buffett concerts.
