LOCAL CLUBS
If you're new to Kayaking or the area the best place to get started is with a club. These are all run by enthusiasts and most charge ridiculously small fees for training and membership. Kit is usually available to hire, again for very low rates and most run regular pool sessions where basic strokes and rolling etc. can be learnt safely and without getting cold! If they were golf clubs they would either have 10,000+ members or they would have gone out if business for charging too little.
HULL AND DISTRICT CANOE CLUB
I very possibly may be talked into setting up a site for this Club if they are very nice to me! In the meantime you can contact Mrs. I. E. Dudley, 32 Nordham, North Cave, East Yorkshire, HU15 2LT 01430 422933. My first (and only) Club, very friendly set of paddlers who are excellent at getting beginners introduced to whitewater. Thanks especially to Alan and Sue who go well out of their way to encourage people to take the plunge!

WITHERNSEA POOL SUNDAY NIGHT CREW
Sunday nights at the Pavilion Leisure Centre at 7.00pm. Run by a few local enthusiasts who paddle the sea reguarly at Withernsea. The pool sessions are tailored to who turns up, some weeks there may be only half a dozen, in which case the norm is a very informal game of hands only polo, other weeks there may be new paddlers and then you will be in the hands of some very experienced paddlers. These guys will get you rolling faster than you thought possible. Give them a visit, one major plus point is that you can bring your own boat, providing of course that it is very clean! Cost per session £2.50.
BARTON OUTDOOR PURSUITS CENTRE
