Four popular methods for picking numbers are;

1) Systems based on the 'past due' numbers. This is where you anticipate that, over an extended time,  all numbers tend to occur at about an even rate.  They believe that current 'past due' numbers should eventually begin to occur more frequently.

2) Systems based on the 'frequency' of winning numbers usually anticipate that,
over an  extended time, the normal mechanical factors in the selection process (like weight, friction, balance, size, or wear) may slightly favor some numbers. They assume  that 'frequent' numbers should continue to occur more frequently than the other numbers, unless those factors are changed.

3) Systems based on 'trending' usually include aspects of the above two systems. They use 'past due' or 'frequency' in the numbers, but do so over a shorter,  more recent period of time. They usually emphasize the lottery's 'current'  activity, for example only those drawings held within the past several weeks or months.

4) Systems based on a dart board with numbers printed on them where people close
their eyes, throw a dart and hope for the best. Less reliable than the previous three
mentioned but no less reliable than Random Number Generators or fortune
cookies.

Most Lottery software programs will keep track of the winning numbers for you, make suggestions for wheeling. Some wheel the numbers for you.
