To whom it may concern,

As a resident and taxpayer in historic downtown Jersey City, I am opposed to the use of the Bergen Arches to shuttle vehicles to and from the Holland Tunnel. Currently the volume of vehicular traffic into the tunnel causes severe backups of traffic since there is limited volume of traffic that can go through the tunnel at once. Also, additional exhaust and environmental implications should be a major concern. As we near the millenium, aren't we supposed to be moving forward to a cleaner and safer environment for our children. Our leaders must recognize the concerns of the citizens and properly represent us not just following their own agendas. LRT would be a consideration that should be looked at seriously, especially considering the amount of public money that will be spent on the Secaucus transfer station.

Sincerely,

William J. Carroll
