HART is a coalition of activists from the Sierra Club, Tri-State Transportation Campaign, NJ Association of Rail Passengers, Committee for Better Transportation and the local Hudson County community.

We seek more citizen participation and government accountability in the transporation infrastructure decision-making process. We generally favor mass-transit solutions to our regional transportation problems in the belief that mass transit is more environmentally and economically justifiable than more roads and cars.

We seek to advance our agenda by collecting and disseminating information about transportation issues facing the Hudson County area thru this website and other media. We also seek to educate our fellow citizens and public officials about the true costs and benefits of the choices facing them.
