Home Improvements - 2008

This has been a busy year for household projects.
We started with some light remodeling of the bathroom.
We moved to exterior paint.
The doozy has been replacing the garage and driveway.
Below are some pictures

Grandpa Gonzalez was pivotal in the exterior paint project. Here he is on the roof.
We cleaned out Lowes wood filler section. Working with wood filler will really get your arms sore.
I know what you're thinking, "How can you tear down a garage with such a beautiful skylight?".
A bunch of guys came over after work on Friday. We had the garage down in an hour and a half. Watch out Ryan!
When the driveway came up we had the biggest sand box in the neighborhood. The Joneses have nothing on us.
It took over three weeks to process permits. Khleber and I were able to frame some walls though.
The footing was poured in concrete, then block was set on top of the footing.
Next they poured the driveway and slab for the garage. The boys now have a nice runway.
Framing was the biggest turnout since the demolition. Three guys came from work came out to help. Thanks Rob, Dale, & Bob.
Next was sheathing of the garage. For a while we had the "OSB Palace". There's Rob again.
Next was roofing, windows, siding, and doors. This took three or four weekends.
Just had the first final inspection on Halloween. They had to find something, right? Maybe finish next week. See the fire for burning scraps in the back?
