 What is it?

For chat on the internet there are two choices: text chat, and The Palace virtual world chat. With The Palace you can pick a graphic representation for yourself (an avatar) and talk live to thousands of other guests from all over the world while exploring hundreds of rich, graphical worlds. Move your avatar around the rooms, and express yourself with scripts, sounds, and animation. Best of all, you can try it FREE! Text chat rooms are yesterday's news. Welcome to The Palace.

The Palace Client is a stand-alone application for connecting to Palace Sites. The client software runs in Windows '95/'98 and Macintosh, and file size is approximately 2 megs. You can use it to join the visual places, live chat, shared activities, and events hosted on thousands of Palace Sites. The Palace User Software includes advanced features for customizing avatars and props, participating in events, and using personal client-side scripts.

The Palace Viewer lives inside web pages - it is not a stand-alone application. The "signed applet" will download quickly - it is less than 300K in size. Once downloaded, it resides on your hard drive, making visits to other Palace communities on the web quick and easy! The advantage to using the Palace Viewer is that users with very little storage capacity can participate in the Palace experience.

Instant Palace is a java applet that lets you visit Palaces easily. The Instant Palace java applet opens automatically in your browser so you can enter PalaceSpace and begin chatting immediately. The best graphical chat on the net is only a button click away. There's no need to download anything!
