This unidentified photograph was among the papers and photographs left by my grandfather, Walter Coke Thompson. For that reason, I'm assuming it was probably taken in Central California, perhaps San Jose. But no one in the family has been able to identify it. The man standing slightly to the right of center is wearing a stovepipe hat, which leads me to believe it was an important gathering.
