Have you ever witnessed or offered to help out on a project in the countryside that was allegedly for conservation. Such as working for the British trust for conservation volunteers, the National Trust, a local authority. Were you told that the project would benefit the local environment? However you and or people you know may consider the conservation claims to be dubious. If so let me know.

The sort of things I mean are felling trees because they are not considered native. Grazing land that had plants on that animals were previously dependent upon, such as grazing down land, and any sort of activity involving turning land into farmland, then alleging it is conservation. When in fact it is very destructive. Welsh sheep farming is a good example.

Britain is loosing oak trees at a greater rate than trees are lost in South America, and yet the British timber industry would claim it is good for conservation. Any articles you know of on this subject are of great interest.

Do you know of a wood that has been thinned or coppiced allegedly for conservation? But you thought otherwise. Let me know.
