Mission Statement
| The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Central Florida is a non-profit, tax-exempt (501-C3) organization which receives no state or federal assistance. Operating solely on donations from private, caring citizens and business, the Center accepts all injured or orphaned wildlife needing care. No fees are ever charged for services offered. |
| Even though we have no salaries, fund raising, or “administrative” costs, just supplying foods, medicines, formulas, and equipment costs more than $2,000 per month. Last year, we admitted approximately 2,000 animals needing our expert care, and we only averaged spending $13.25 per animal!! This is partially due to the many organizations which donate produce, supplies, and dog & cat food as well as to our non-paid volunteers willing to give their all, day and night, with hugs as their only pay. Our supporting members keep us going, pay the bills of running this organization, and give us words of encouragement to help us face each day of crises. It has never been easy, but the rewards are rich, indeed – an eagle flies free, an opossum is healed, a fawn grows up before our eyes. When Ron and I speak of sacrifices made in order to work the long hours, we must also take a pause to remember the pay backs. Helping to save innocent lives almost lost, easing the suffering of the injured and observing the fruits of our labor when a wild one returns to claim its rightful domain, these are our payments for a job well done! |
