The techniques of organic gardening have been used by humans for centuries and have been displayed in nature since the beginning of plant life. Science has only recently begun to explore the complex and extensive natural world that fuels the techniques of organic gardening. The scientific approach toward organic gardening has provided farmers and garden hobbyists with invaluable information. This information can be used to make our farms and gardens more productive, efficient, and environmentally sound. Without an understanding of the relationship between science and organic growing, an organic farmer or gardener cannot fully appreciate the complexity of this wonderful form of agriculture. Scientific knowledge allows organic growers to come closer to replicating the habits and techniques of nature - the ultimate goal of organic gardening. All of these projects competed in science fairs at the high school level. They are very professional and are an excellent source of information and advice.
