Prior close and friendly contact with people in Honduras, Patuca e.V. was established in 1995 as non-profit organization in Germany. e.V. is the legal nomenclature for non-profit in Germany.

Patuca e.V.'s mission is the conservation and sustainable development of the remaining tropical forests in Central America, cooperating with the Honduran non-profit organization GEO.

Development projects that are environmentally compatible and provide alternatives to habitat degradation and destruction are being implemented through financial and technical assistance.
