Alberto Ninio, Advogado, está desde 1993 no Banco
Mundial, tendo iniciado na Unidade de Direito Ambiental
de seu Departamento Legal, e desde 1995 esta na área
operaçoões e contratos de empréstimos do mesmo Departamento.
Alberto se formou em direito pela Universidade Federal do Rio
de Janeiro e recebeu o grau de Mestre em Direito Internacional pela American
University, Washington College of Law (EUA).
Antes de trabalhar no Banco, Alberto trabalhou 3 anos
como advogado no Instituto de Direito
Ambitental localizado em Washington, DC (EUA).
Ainda no Brasil, Alberto teve a oportunidade de trabalhar em
duas firmas de advocacia no Rio de Janeiro com especilização
em direito comercial e investimentos estrangeiros.
Alberto Ninio, Counsel, joined the World Bank in 1993 in the Bank's Environmental Law Unit and moved to LEGLA in 1995. Alberto received his legal education in Brazil (LL.B., Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Law School) and in the United States (LL.M.), International Law, American University, Washington College of Law). A Brazilian-trained lawyer, prior to joining the Bank, he worked as a staff attorney for the Washington-based Environmental Law Institute, as an intern at the International Treaties Section of the Organization of American States, and for two Brazilian law firms in Rio de Janeiro, where his main focus was on the legal aspects of foreign investments. In addition to his work on regular development projects, he has been actively involved in the Bank's work for the Rain Forest Trust Fund.
