Hello, my name is Travis and I'm 14 years old. I wanted to make a web page, and with the help of my dad , and my Uncle Paul, I have started this page.

Since I was born, Ive been allergic to all kinds of animal hairs. To say the least this has been a real bummer,and having pets has been almost none existent. We have tried dogs,but I had allergic reactions. Im a kid, so my parents have tried everything, and basically it came down to fish. I do enjoy my fish, but I always wanted a little something more exciting.

Well, my Uncle Paul has always been into snakes and other creepy things and for Christmas he bought me a Poecilotheria regalis (Indian Ornamental).It was just a spiderling, and we have had the opportunity to watch it grow. My whole family took a special interest in the Ornamental!! Since tarantulas should not really be handled a lot, I have not had any allergic reactions; however many tarantulas do have very bad hairs if handled. The Indian Ornamental is now very large, and is aggressive and I do not handle it (nor does my Uncle and Dad). It is beautiful and we all enjoy looking at it. Plus my friends all think its so cool!!

Since the purchase of the Ornamental my dad has taken a special interest in tarantulas and we now own nine. At the moment my Uncle Paul owns six, and we all enjoy talking about them and watching them grow. You see, the tarantulas have turned into a family affair.
