I know it's anxiety producing, but the beginning of the semester is always chaotic and you just need to keep reminding yourself the grade will not be affected by the first couple of weeks' confusion as we get organized.

The textbook I am trying to use is the Norton Anthology of American Literature to 1865. There are apparently two volumes; the first one is the one you will need.

go here and read this for an overview of what I will be discussing the first two or three weeks in class.

This is the textbook we will use. To my dismay, they have broken the text into volumes, and you will need volumes A and B. I see now that this is why the book is so hard to find: they've split it in half so you have to buy both volumes. However, it is still cheaper than some of the larger volumes.

This might help: price comparison

Here is a nice link to some of Ann Bradstreet's poetry: BRADSTREET

Some John Smith: Who he was.

I will add more during the week, but my resource pages are in webct, so I have to wait until I get in to post links to the actual works.

Thank you for your patience.
