Soon after we were married, my new wife and I decided that my tiny little bachelor pad was too cramped for us, so we saw this old dilapidated wreck of a 3-storey 7-bedroom house in Solomons, Maryland. The asking price was about what the land alone was worth, so we bought it. Now we shoulda torn it down and built a whole new house, but no, we decided to name it Super Shack and restore it. So anyway, we've sorta got it restored enough to be livable.
The house is believed to have been built in 1896. When we began working on it, we met this ancient geezer who claimed that his very first job of his career was to help build the house, so we asked him to tell us a little about the history of the house. He immediately broke out into gales of laughter and told us all about how Mr. Overton (the first owner of the house) talked funny because he was a Dutchman. So we thought, wow, what a wealth of information!
