The Ballad of the Vicious Virus

In days of old when knights were bold
In a mighty kingdom beyond the sea
A knight named Sir Lotsalance counted his gold
While his horse named Reginald grazed in the lea.

In the bloodstream of this noble steed
Flowed many a fine and gallant corpuscle.
Now one of the corpuscles was, indeed,
An unusually small corpuscle named Russell.

Now the strongest corpuscles were being assigned
To combat a fearsome virus named Cyrus.
But Russell felt himself wrongly maligned
To be thought too small to vie with a virus.

So on Russell's next trip around the bloodstream
By the time he got to the horse's midsection
Russell decided to follow his dream
And disobeyed the bloodmaster's direction.

Now when Russell reached the scene of the fight
He battled with valor but all in vain.
Though he struggled with Cyrus with all his might,
When the combat was over poor Russell was slain.

And so this must be the end of our story,
But every tale has a moral, of course.
Whenever you're seeking your moment of glory,
Don't change streams in the middle of a horse.
