Experimental solar ovens 1

A Box Solar Oven

This is a home made solar oven. It is still being refined to imporve its operating temperatures. The first picture shows solar panels made out of cardboard and covered with aluminized mylar. These refelect 90% of the light they get, but the cardboard surface is too flimsy in humid weather.

As you can see it was difficult to get the mylar flat without wrinkles.

The panels are approximately 18 inches square.

Temperatures with 3 panels reached 250 degrees F on a cloudless day.
