Hi. Welcome to my personal page. My 'net name is kizmet, but my real name is Linda. I live in beautiful central Maine. I pay the bills for my house, but my 3 cats control it- along with me! The bosses of the house are named Pop Tart (Poppy), Squeakers and Mystery. They are all gray in assorted variations. Poppy, the oldest at 5 years, is (we think) a Maine Coon cat, which means he is BIG. Squeakers is 3 and is a lot like me (a chicken!). Mystery is 2 years old. He was a surprise to our family since he, literally, adopted us a couple of summers ago. He wandered into our yard and decided to stay. Want to see pictures of my cats? Please go here.

During the week, I am a special education teacher. I teach students in grades K-5 in my home town. I am starting my 17th year of teaching, and- believe it or not- I still love it. My jobs have varied from being a resource room teacher to working in a self-contained classroom. I don't have a preference to either setting, since they deal with totally different problems.

On weekends and vacations, I work on our local ambulance. I have been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for over 10 years. Although it can be very stressful at times, it is very rewarding. (I am still waiting to deliver my first baby, though.) The ambulance covers about a 200 square mile area, including some very rugged terrain and inaccessible areas. We service about 15 towns and unorganized territories within that area. We have about 400 calls per year.

Some of my other major interests include recycling, working to save the environment, and the television show- Highlander. My love of this show resulted in my flying for the first time this year to go to the Highlander convention in Anaheim, California during April, 1998. It was great and I met some wonderful people there. It is an experience I will treasure for always.
