Reiki
Introduction:
Reiki is an ancient form of
harmonization by laying on of hands which was rediscovered in the mid 1800s.This
method of transmitting universal energy can bring great relief to the receipient;not
just in the physical body, but also on an emotional, mental and spiritual
level.Dr.Mikao Usui of Japan has founded Reiki.
What Reiki
is not:
Reiki is not mind-directed
energy, polarity therapy or therapy using magnetism. With these approaches, the
therapist must see the energy coming into them and direct it with their
minds. In these approaches to healing ,illness is considered as negative
energy. The therapist, who is filled with positive energy, attracts the negative
energy like a magnet, pulling it away and removing it from the client. One
of the biggest fears is that the negative energy from the client will somehow
attach itself to the therapist, making them ill.Or conversely, there is concern
that,if the therapist has negative energy,it could be picked up by the
client.
What are
the effects?
The most common effects of
a Reiki session are deep relaxation and a sense of inner peace. This creates
an ideal environment in which the body can maximize its natural healing
process.Reiki can be used safely at any time,in any place, and for everything-from
problems with conceiving to alleviating the pain of terminal illness. It
requires no particular belief system and is a powerful complement to all
forms of healing,including general medicine.
Reiki is given from the heart
and is often experienced as the receiving of unconditional love. This love
has the power to bring back to a state of peace and harmony. This state
can be described as health or wholeness.
Five Spiritual
Principles of Reiki:
-
Just for today,I will let go of
anger.
-
Just for today,I will let go of
worry.
-
Today,I will count my many blessings.
-
Today,I will do my work honestly.
-
Today,I will be kind to every living
creature.
Bio-energetics
Introduction:
Energy therapy,or bioenergetic
therapy as it is sometimes called, refers to therapies that use an energy
field-electrical, magnetic, sonic, acoustic, microwave, ifrared-to scree
for or treat health conditions by detecting imbalamces in the body’s energy
fields and then correcting them.
This detection of energy level
imbalances in the body is essential for providing an early warning system
for potential disruptions in chemical balance that may lead to disease.Balance
can then be restored using holistic therapies,or with treatment devices
that rebalance the energy levels of the various fields before the chemical
or structural disturbances can occur.
Types
of Energy Therapy devices:
Most of the energy therapy
devices are based on the accupuncture meridian system.Acupuncture
works on the principle that there is a network of energy channels, called
meridians, throught the body.Different organs are associated with different
energy meridians, and health problems in various organs show up as disturbances
of energy in the associated meridians.Acupuncture points,or acupoints, are
the points along the meridians where energy flow can be measured and manipulated. The
examples of electroacupuncture devices developed based on this thoery are
as follows:
Dermatron,Cumputron,Vega,Mora,Tens,Electro-Acuscope,
LBG (Light Beam Generator),Diapulse,Cymatic instrument,Infratonic QGM,Telsar
watch etc.
Qigong
Introduction:
Qigong combines movement,meditation,and
breath regulation to enhance the flow of vital energy in the body, improve
blood circulation, and enhance immune function.Because qigong can be used
by the healthy as well as the severely ill,it is one of the most broadly
applicable systems of self-care in the world. In China,it is estimated
that 200 million people practice qigong everyday.
Qigong is also refered to as
chi-kung is an ancient Chinese exercise that stimulate and balance the
flow of qi, or vital life energy, along the acupuncture meridians.Like acupuncture
and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the qigong tradition emphasizes the importance
of teaching the patient how to remain well.In China, the various methods
of qigong form the nucleus of a national self-care system of health maintenance
and personal developement. Qigong cultivates inner strength, calms the mind, and
restores the body to its natural state of health by maintaining the optimum
functioning of the body’s self-regulating systems.
How does
it work?
Qigong practice can range from
simple calisthenic-type movements with breath coordination,to complex exercises
where brain wave frequency, heart rate, and other organ functions are altered
intentionally by the practitioner. When practised regularly, qigong’s combination
of movement, reverse damage caused by prior injuries and disease, and promote
relaxation, awareness,and healing.
Traditional
Chinese Medicine holds that qigong stimulates and nourishes the body’s
internal organs by circulating qi. Qigong can break down energy blocks
and facilitate the free flow of energy throughout the body, promoting blood
and lymph flow and the even flow of nerve impulses necessary for proper
health maintenance.”The overall benifit of qigong is to mobilize and harmonize
the body’s naturally occuring healing resource”.
What are
the effects?
Recent medical studies in both
China and the United States show that qigong can reduce stress, increase
circulation, and provide resistance to disease. Today, most hospitals in
China include qigong as part of their health care programs, with cetain
hospitals devoted solely to its study and practice. Thousands of qigong
institute also provide qigong instruction, while major centers in Beijing,Shanghai,
and Guangzho train qigong teachers and carry out government-supported research. |
