THE DOG EARED DIARIES
The ideas/thoughts here are provisional possibilities - not necessarily what I "believe" - the dreams happened as described.

:)
Dream 1

I enter a room. Itīs an old room, like a ministry room in Whitehall, London, a war room maybe. Inside are a group of men, some standing, some sitting - they look as if they have been talking together and in some way waiting for me. I get the sense that they are completely relaxed with each other in the same way that people who have been through something special or traumatic always are. they have various uniforms on - different colours, I specifically remember the man nearest me. He is sitting on a chair pulled away from the table and positioned some way from the table and near me at the door. He is sitting on the chair with legs uncrossed and feet well apart. He is wearing a blue uniform. He looks relaxed but anticipating my entry to the room. I feel I have returned to old friends. Next something makes me turn round in the dream and at that instant I am suddenly in the middle of a battlefield. The sky is the most amazing day-glow orangey-red and the scene is one of chaos and excitement, of bomb blasts and bullets, of craters and blasted earth in mounds, gullies and puddles. I donīt feel afraid - the colour of the sky is awesome and itīs the suddenness of the change from the quietness of the Whitehall room that is so striking. I feel as if the old friends are just giving me a little jolt to my memory - saying welcome back - do you remember us?

Dream 2

A transparent horizontal "rollercoaster" about half a mile up in the sky soaring over a rainforest and grey jagged peaks. Incredibly colourful, as natural as I could imagine. Blue blue sky, bright sunshine, bright green foliage, sharp grey stone. Iīm on the "rollercoaster". The coaster is travelling very fast - at the peak of the bend the enormous thrust moves us all out as beings way out over the lush jungle, tumbling waterfalls and mountains - we are thrown out in a huge arc over all of this stuff. Not only is there the thrill of being above all of this wonderful scenery, it is also the very direct relationship you have with it - you are naked over it, spiritually present, but no body, no barriers between you and it. Not only that but the sheer excitement of each bend in the "track" - you are suddenly rushing out into the space above the jungle in a huge arc - you are above all this amazing scene and you come back in a long perfect arc as if you are connected by a rope or elastic though there is no tug - it is extremely smooth - you are out of your body, half a mile high, naked and flying, technicolour vision, thrilled and exhilerated, time after time.
Enlightenment is becoming free of the lie of polarities.

The sensation we call joy is a movement towards enlightenment. Distress is a movement away from it. All movements are movements of mind.

Energy is the outward manifestation of earlier decisions.

There is no outer and inner. It is all one and nothing. It is itself the belief that it is happening.

What is good and what is bad are in the head.

Wisdom is outside of time.

If you are being here then there is little need to do anything else.

29/4/95 @ 00:32

You canīt look in. You can only look out. Because you are the point from which you look.

We all occupy all space. Yet in truth there is no space.

29/4/95 @ 00:33

We are one another.

29/4/95 @ 00:34

We are all things.

29/4/95 @ 00:34

There are in truth no things.

29/4/95 @ 00:34

We are connected. We are collective. We are "God".

29/4/95 @ 00:35

Nothing is actually happening. There is no space, no time, no distance, no matter, no energy, no doing, no real having. We ARE is all and we are ALL together. NOW. ONE. In the void, in the co-existence, in bliss, harmony, TAO, beyond all these words, beyond all contradictions, beyond all concepts, static, sourceless, positionless, weightless without space or location. Pure essence of being. In One-ness. Now.

The ignorance versus enlightenment conflict we feel, as encapsulated in the phrase "Ignorance is bliss" may be due to the fact that we are engaged in an act of self-deception. In order to believe that life is real, important and necessary, we must keep from ourselves the fact that essentially there is nothing to be gained or lost from it, that we start out exactly where we end up, with everything and nothing, and that nothing takes place that has to in order for anything to be "accomplished". That is, nothing worthwhile in any real sense is occurring. We always were where we wanted to be all along. So every time we "learn" something we can probably unconsciously sense that we are that little bit closer in awareness to realising that the game of life has no inherent worth of its own, intrinsic to it. This must be part of the process of enlightenment and must be part of the reason for the leaving of the endless cycle of birth and death. To "enjoy" life fully we must maintain our ignorance of any basic truth such as this - but all beings are perhaps moving toward enlightenment, even those who appear to be heading directly away from it. (A flow can only flow so far in one direction before it starts to flow in the opposite direction. Flows are not infinite. So even those who are involved in the practice of "harmful" acts are perhaps simply accumulating the appropriate amount before they return back towards light and positive action - in fact they will be speeded in that direction - probably the speed of the flow is greatest immediately after it changes direction).

Beings involved in positive action still believe in the illusion of the "good" involved and they feel the conflict, feeling odd because they no longer have blissful ignorance and are perhaps a step or two closer to the reversal of the flow and knowing that their actions have no inherent worth. The answer must be to do pretty much without thought. To do "good" without thought, without thinking we can move "on" or "up", just Being, and letting the consequences of doing take care of themselves. We are all in the Now. There is no where else to go.
