On May 13th a group of RCHS Ex’s gathered at Golden Coral in Brownwood for a luncheon and visitation. Andy Bowen RCHS class of '65 would like to hear from other grads. You can contact Andy at abowen@peoplescom.net

Marc & Brenda Stovall '71 & '72 notified us that they are "ANTIQUE" Dealers in Coleman, Texas. They are on Commercial Avenue; right "Downtown" Coleman. They say that every one is invited to stop by and visit. (Who knows, you might find something that you just can't live without!) You can also visit them at their web-site at http://www.tootsiesantiques.com/. If you just want to cyber chat, they are always online at tootsies@web-access.net

Some months ago, we reported that Whiskey Whisenat was asking about Charles "Goose" Martin '54. Several responded saying that they remember Charles, but no one knew where he was. Then just this week we had a message on our answering machine from Jack Owens '57 saying that he has had contact with Charles. Charles is City Manager in Altus, OK, and if anyone wants to contact him, his phone # is 580-477-1251. We will try to contact Charles and provide further infomation. In regard to Jack Owens, he said he lost contact with us after we discontinued the paper Toot, but he is getting on-line soon and we will be hearing from him more often.

There are several new entries in the Classifieds section. So, scroll down the left side to Classifieds, click, and see what is new. Among the new entries are classifieds for Damon Davis '57, Marc and Brenda Stoval '71 & '72, and Thereassa Lovelace '63.

Yea! Yea! The Whatever Happened To Old So & So page has some new entries, so click on its caption in left margin and see who is looking for who (hoo hoo - sounds just like an owl doesn't it?). This page really paid off recently by finally getting us in touch with Charles Bolton '60. Charles's sister-in-law, Renee Bolton, sent us his phone # and we called him down at Groves where he now lives. We had a nice chat by phone and asked him to send us something for the Toot. Here is what he sent:

Howdy!

I took typing in 1959 under Ms. Spiller, but I did not learn much. Too many distractions. People like Ann Puckett and Dianna Watkins. You get my drift. I am currently living in Southeast Texas in a town called Groves, a surburb of Port Arthur. I am currently employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. I work at the Stiles unit. I have been married for 28 years to a fine lady by the name of Helen. She is a supervisor in the Port Arthur school system. We have a son Derek who is 25 years old. He works for Sabine Neches Towing. David Stewart told me about the reunion on June 17th. I do not know if I will be able to attend, but I will try. Send me an e-mail to let me hear from you. You can reach me at hbolton@pernet.net.

Be seeing ya,

Charles Bolton '60

There are some success stories about getting in touch with old friends in the Guestbook. Also, there are several inquiries in the Guestbook of people looking for people. Go there and see what we mean. We are doubling up on this effort by also putting the inquiries in the page on What Ever Happened To Old So & So.

For all those who have been asking about Pat Busby Tomanovich '58, Pat is back at work and back to her old self. She is bubbly as ever and sending goods words of cheer and jokes to everyone. In addition to her office email address, she now has a home email address at pattypoo40@msn.com So, send Pat a email and tell her how great it is to have her back. Just another example of how time and faith in God heals all wounds.

After a long period of not hearing from Victor Whitley '57, we finally received the following note from him a couple weeks ago:

My mother died of lung cancer Thanksgiving weekend. We have been trying to adjust to all the things that you have to become adjusted to after this kind of loss. Terri and I are doing well, still working (it will never end), one married daughter with a two year old grandson(yea!!!) and a single 28 year old journalist son that will never settle down. If you are ever in Grand Prairie give me a call. 972-641-0160.

Kay Weatherby ('58) Ellis reports that she heard from Margaret Nossent ('56) Nixon that Mozelle Miers, Howard Johnson's mother, had a stroke and is in a nursing home in Center. We are saddened to hear this in that Mozelle is one of the Toots biggest fans and is always writing us about how much she enjoys hearing from all of us. We are sure it would help her spirits, if you were to send her a card. You can send card to Howard at Rt. 3, Box 1264 - Center, TX 75935 and he will take it to Mozelle

We are also saddened to report that Clarence Davis ('57) passed away this last November as reported by OW Parker III ('57). We remember Clarence from the days when we would go to 4H and FFA shows in Ft. Worth and Dallas showing show lambs. We aren't sure, but believe Clarence went into the Navy after high school and hadn't anything about him until we received the word from OW.

A couple weeks ago after our tele-visit with ex-coach Whiskey Whisenat, we had asked at the request of Whiskey if anyone knew of a Charles Martin. Then, later in the week we reported that Roy Fell had enlightened us that Whisenat was no doubt referring to Charles "Goose" Martin who graduated in '54. We asked Roy to tell us a little bit about what he has been doing since the RCHS days and he responded as follows:

"I worked for thirty-five years for the H-E-B ISD. I spent the last thirty of that at L. D. Bell High School as a guidance counselor. I am now retired and that means doing only what I want to do. This site is nice, I check in almost every day to see if someone I know is talking. It is great. Roy Fell".

We are excited to see that June McMullan Berberian ('58) has visited our Guestbook all the way from Brazil and left a message saying "Would love to hear from anyone who may remember me." Who can forget June... one of the sweetest girls ever to come out of RCHS!!! So, make note of her email address in the Guestbook and drop her a line... We intend to! Another one visiting the Guestbook asking for others to contact her was Irene Bruce Vadin ('62). So, drop her an email as well.

We had an email from Hank and Sandy (Stives '66) Williamson alerting us to a new website about the ghost towns of Best, Santa Rita, and Texon. It is well worth a visit in that it gives the history of the towns in the sequence they were established. Go to the following URL:

http://www.texasghosttowns.com/B_best_sr_texon.htm

In case you haven't noticed, the front page of the Toot has been changed to reflect that the Toot is for all RCHS alumni rather than just those from the '50s and '60s. Although the Toot was started in '95 for the alumni of the '50s and '60s, it has been gaining a steady following by alumni from other eras as shown in the Guestbook Entries. And too, the Big Lake Wildcat has been advertising it as the "The official RCHS Ex-Students website....". So, we have updated the front page accordingly.

In view of the recent loss of all the addresses, emails, and phone #s that were in the Guestbook Entries, we are sure that everyone would appreciate your going there again and re-entering your basic info. No need to re-input comments unless you want to. Again, we are sorry this happened, but it was beyond our control.

Billy Tom Curry, a teacher at RCHS in the 60s, sent us an email some time ago, which we published, offering to help us with our email listing. Well, Billy Tom has completed the listing and it is great. If you haven't already been there to see the results of his ingenuity, click on Email Addesses in the left margin and go see it. Billy Tom has developed a site similar to ours for his alumni in Mart at the following URL:

www.geocities.com/yosemite/campground/7055

It is a great site... Go there and leave him a message in his Guestbook... We are sure he would like to hear from some of his prodigies from the 60s. We also congratulate Mart on their State Playoff spot in football this last season.
