AGM 2000

The day went very well, skirting rain storms, the field activities, and the participants managed to stay dry. The business meeting went smoothly, managed by the experienced leadership of our vice-chair, Jim Cayford. A renewed council has been approved, but there are still three positions to fill. Any volunteers will probably be readily accepted!

Doug Drysdale gave a very interesting history behind the growth of the Drysdale businesses, a history which very much parallels the development of the highway 400 corridor and the initial development of the Christmas tree industry. And lunch was great - thanks Doug.

We were then expertly hosted by the Somerville Nursery staff in and around their new headquarters south of Everett. We were ferried about several of their properties (bus and wagon) under the leadership of Paul Frazer. Mr. John Somerville, now a Fellow member of the CIF, was also with us to add information about the history of the nursery business, and his company which he, of course, founded.

Thank you Paul and John
