Westralia Airport Corporation - Master Plan for Perth Airport Development New ANEF Plan Implications

The new aircraft noise exposure forecasts (Figure 12.2 Draft ANEF - Ultimate Capacity
Environment 12A) in the revised Westralia Airports Corporation (WAC) master plan for the Perth
airport development, are dramatically worse than the original aircraft noise exposure concept plan
(ANEC) in the original draft.

The public consultation as required under the Airports Act 1996 has not been properly undertaken. The then ANEC plans indicated that the areas of Queens Park and Cannington were primarily unaffected.

The new plan which₁ indicates substantial increase in the noise contour levels, was not made available to the Canning City Council or affected residents, for due consideration prior to presentation of the draft to yourself.

Was there a deliberate deception to misinform the residents of the southern corridor or was it simply a case of gross incompetence? In either case, the Westralia Airports Corporation Master Plan is riddled with lies and misrepresentations.

The new forecasts place homes in the unacceptable noise level of over 30 and 25 ANEF contours respectively. This change to the plan will substantially increase noise pollution resulting in serious affects to people's health and well-being. Moreover, property values in the area will be drastically affected.

These new forecasts morally oblige the reopening of public consultation to allow an opportunity for affected individuals to express opinion on the future Airport Expansion Plans.

To make this imposition without consultation is improper, and the proposed changes should be rejected. Resident's rights to informed public comment under the Act have effectively been denied.

I/we urge you in the strongest terms possible, to reject the plan, and furthermore, hereby demand the opportunity to comment thereon.
