Godzilla invited to Canning

Government Generosity Overwhelms Over 200 hundred concerned ratepayers of Cannington and surrounding areas packed a meeting hall to hear of the impending dramatic increase in aircraft noise. They heard many things, all bad news for their life style, health and their children's future.
Speakers mentioned a "noise footstep". This conjured up images in my mind of monster movies. An image of a noisy Godzilla tramping noisily through the unfortunate suburbs of Queens Park Cannington East Cannington Beckenham Langford Ferndale Leeming and Wilson.
Then they mentioned a "carpet of sound" which immediately projected a picture of the suburbs being noisily drowned against their will by government bodies, whilst their voices of protest were muffled by the noise no-one wants. Not a nice picture!
Finally when compensation was mentioned, my government experience helped to project a picture of generous government agents in noisy helicopters dropping Valium and ear plugs to the plebs below.
The consensus from the meeting was that we are a generous and caring group. We have more than enough noise and are happy to see it more fairly and evenly with others.
Our message to the Minister is simply, enough already.
If you missed the first meeting the second one is on Thursday twenty second of April 7:30PM at Cannington City Centre.
