Quake 2 article
Lots of updates today, but I still donīt want to turn this into a news page, because there are too many of them already, but today I just couldnīt help myself. My plan is to just heh...pop up on Bluesnews from time to time with something thatīs actually worth reading. I wont feel bad about not having the latest news immediatly on my site, cause I really donīt see the point since everybody reads it on Bluesī first anyway. I will continue to collect rumors and wishes, thatīs all.
Oh, yeah...right... the real reason for this update is the Quake 2 article up on Gamespot. The only thing that really surprized me about it was the mention that:
"For starters, nothing from Quake will carry over to Quake II except for the graphics engine foundation"
Hmm...nothing will carry over to Quake 2? Not even the quakeguy? Not even the old Rocket Launcher? Anyway, I guess itīs good news cause Iīve always felt that the more stuff they change for Quake 2, the cooler the product. Even if itīs only details like the armor textures, the status bar etc, it will feel like itīs really a new game, yīknow?
These new feats are also mentioned in the article:
Oops...
Just discovered my Quake 2 rumor list was messed up. So if youīve read it and thought some stuff was a bit weird...well...Iīm sorry...Iīm only just beginning to learn the difficult art of cutīnīpaste here, so bear with me. Hehe...
Grappling Hook Interview
Iīve interviewed that mysterious guy known as "Mike"....the genius who created the original grappling hook patch. Since it has been rumored (note that this was a very long time ago) that the hook is going to be included in Quake 2, I thought it would be appropriate to have an interview with the author here. The interview deals with questions such as Zoid and CTF, how the hook should be modified for Quake 2, what Mike is up to now and so on. Read it and...umm....be careful with that criticism...this is the first interview Iīve ever made. And, yea...Iīve also redesigned the site. Completely.
Mikeīs grappling hook patch is available in the files section.
