Lynde Bradley Science Club Summer Spree

The Summer Spree is the Science Club's yearly social event. Typically it consists of a tour of some local facility followed by a dinner and door prize giveaway. In previous years the Spree has taken tours of the Milwaukee Deep Tunnel Project, Discovery World Museum, Sprecher Brewery, the Milwaukee Post Office, The New Milwaukee Art Museum Addition, and the 128th Air Refuelling Unit.

These have been successful trips in the past due to the efforts of volunteers to coordinate the activities. Peter Schmidt (LBSC Vice President/Treasurer) is in charge of the Spree 2003 so if you have any ideas or wish to volunteer to help put it all together please contact him.

Summer Spree 2002

For the SUMMER SPREE 2002, we got a tour of the 128th Air Refuelling Unit.

On Wednesday June 26, 2002, two yellow school buses left the AB - Milwaukee visitors parking lot at 4:30 PM to take our group to the 128th Air Refuelling Unit on General Mitchell International Airport. The tour started off with a briefing from Major Murray Mitten (pilot) and Colonel Jim Waters in the Base Operations briefing room. We then toured the Jet Engine Training Facility and a KC-135R refueling aircraft. The Fire Department's crash rescue truck was also on hand with an impressive display of water power!

After the tour, the buses returned us to Fritz's on 2nd for beverages, dinner (Hot and Cold appetizers, Subs, and Dessert!) and some fabulous door prizes!
