FREELANCE PROOF READING and COPY EDITING SERVICES |
Jasen Quick |
If you create something for the public to read, it should be presented to impress the most intellectual of them; for it is they who will judge you the most. |
Why use a proof reader/copy editor? |
When applying for a job... |
Many employers receive more applications for jobs than they expect. Sometimes deciding who to hire can come down to who wrote the best letter, especially if you have equal qualifications and experience as the next applicant. One spelling mistake can make that difference, so why not spend a few pounds and get your letter vetted first. |
When writing for your local newspaper ... |
Local newspapers rely on community correspondents to supply a regular source of articles. You may have lots to say but don't feel that you have the style for writing for an audience. No problem - you write the content and Ill make it presentable. 'Letters to the editor' are also better received when well written. Don't lose your right to have your say just because your writing isn't exceptional. |
When creating an advert for your own services ... |
If you want to attract customers you need to be certain that the most well educated of them will not be turned away because of your written English or choice of words. I can help design adverts, letter heads and business cards, as well as proof read your own designs. |
Business Literature ... |
Businesses cannot afford to let their image down by producing inaccurate brochures, leaflets, flyers, adverts and publications. Proof reading them and making suggestions is what I am here for. |
Write a novel (or a film) ... |
Most publishers receive hundreds of manuscripts each week from people wishing to have their work published. Many of those manuscripts are discarded unread simply because they are not written in the format that publishers require. I can type-up your hand written text or format your work so that it is presentable to publishers. I can even format screenplays and advise on how to write covering letters to agents, publishers, newspaper and magazine editors and film production companies. |
Whatever you write or design ... |
Anything that you produce for other people to read or look at needs to be accurate. If you are unsure, email me with a description of your project and ask about costs. I don't charge a fortune and it's in my own interest not to scare you off! |
When creating a web site ... |
Web sites are electronic newspapers. They need to be error free just like all written text. As Web Sites are viewed by people all over the world you need to make sure that you present yourself accurately. After all, you don't want to be emailed by an American, telling you how bad your English is! |
