If you create something for the public to read, it should be presented to impress the most intellectual of them; for it is they who will judge you the most.

Many employers receive more applications for jobs than they expect. Sometimes deciding who to hire can come down to who wrote the best letter, especially if you have equal qualifications and experience as the next applicant. One spelling mistake can make that difference, so why not spend a few pounds and get your letter vetted first.

Local newspapers rely on community correspondents to supply a regular source of articles. You may have lots to say but don't feel that you have the style for writing for an audience. No problem - you write the content and Ill make it presentable. 'Letters to the editor' are also better received when well written. Web sites are electronic newspapers. They need to be error free just like all written text. As Web Sites are viewed by people all over the world you need to make sure that you present yourself accurately. After all, you don't want to be emailed by an American, telling you how bad your English is!
