Special One time UP GRADE Information

If you have an old Technician License issued prior to 21 March, 1987 you should bring a copy and an original of your (expired) "old Tech" license. Credit can be given for the General written element.

I expect to have new form NCVEC 605's at the test session so you may as well wait until then to fill it out.

Other things you will need are two forms of ID including at least one with a photo and a fee($10.00).

We will have pens, paper, pencils at the site.

We will also require your SSN as required by law, to process your paperwork. If you wish to not use your SSN then you may apply for a LIN, License Identification Number. Without one of these on record, your paperwork WILL BE held up until then by the VEC/FCC. We CAN NOT process your paperwork without it.

LOCATION , LOCATION, LOCATION! We have moved! The Madison county test session is no longer in Berea, KY. It is now being held in the Madison County EOC on Keenland Drive in Richmond; home of the tall antenna tower, visible from all around locally including from the interstate at exit 90, Richmond. Coming up from the south, turn left off the exit ramp onto US 25, North. Go to the 1st stop light (Keenland Drive) and turn left between Hardey's and Arby's. The EOC is just about at the end of the street, on the right. Park in the lower lot and entrance will be via the Lower, rightmost door.

For those coming from a Northerly route, use I-75 exit 90 B(ravo). Turn right (onto US 25 North) to the 1st light and then left onto Keenland Drive and continue as above.

Talk-in information should be available on the (primary) 145.370 but also the 146.715(pl 100 Hz), or the 146.865(pl 192.8 Hz).
