Bob Mackie Barbie is the first in a series of fabulous fashions made exclusively for Barbie by the world famous designer Bob Mackie. Glamour designed to be as good as gold. Who but Bob Mackie could make Barbie look so fabulous! He designed this creation exclusively for her. The spectacular gown is covered with thousands of sequins and a variety of countless beads. Each bead and sequins has been hand sewn on by hand. Then, the gown has been hand sewn onto Barbie. The signature criss-cross bodice dips low in back, and the long, fluid skirt trails behind her dramatically. When Barbie wears her dazzling gown and specially designed jewelry, headpiece and bracelets, she looks like a golden goddess. Luxuriously draped in her elegant boa, she is ready to make a grand entrance anytime.

Starlight Splendor Barbie features over 5,000 hand sewn beads and sequins,creating an aura of glamour and glitz from her fabulous headdress to the train on her gorgeous gown! Master designer Mackie begins his creation with a unique hairstyle, which, when combined with the bead and sequin cap, creates a dramatic headdress effect. From there one's eye moves to Barbie doll's lovely face, enhanced by the special makeup Mackie designed just for her. Another dazzling Mackie touch lies in the jeweled wristbands of white and silver. Beginning at the high neck of her halter gown, silver streaks swirl down and around, intersecting with a ground of black sequins and bugle beads. Platinum 3rd Edition 1991 She is an ultra-glamorous creation with gorgeous platinum hair, glamorous makeup, magnificent shimmering ensemble, and specially designed jewelry. Over 8,000 hand sewn sequins and beads contribute to her incredible radiance. Barbie shines in a form fitting dress aglitter with pearlscent sequins. The plunging neckline is encrusted in Mackie's signature bugle beads. The glimmering garment is sewn onto Barbie for an impeccable fit. Empress Bride 5th Edition 1992

Goddess of the Sun 8th Edition 1995
Befitting a sun goddess, Barbie doll has resplendent collar that rises like flames around her. Golden embroidery outlines each flame, and a border of embroidery encloses sequins and beads that flicker in the center, echoing the radiance of her gown. Every bead, every sequin in her entire ensemble is sewn on by hand, and the gown is sewn to Barbie for a perfect fit. But it's not only the costume that makes her a sun goddess. Bob Mackie has seen that every detail contributes to her other - worldly look. Her hair is colored an unusual golden yellow, then swept up into three curls above a magnificent headpiece accented with two golden rhinestones. Goddess of the Moon 9th Edition 1996
The one and only Moon Goddess, Barbie is dramatic in a midnight blue sequins dress with its shimmering "moonbeam" draping over her shoulder creating an elegant floor length cape accented with beautiful stars. As Moon Goddess, this Barbie doll is the in the Bob Mackie series. To complete her costume, her hair is gathered into a swept-up style and crowned with a deep blue column hat highlighted by more stars. She is accessorized with dangling earrings and blue shoes includes a doll stand descriptive booklet, and a copy of the original signature fashion illustration.
Dream Halloween 1996
Barbie Makes Dreams Come True! On October 26, 1996, Barbie and more than 150 Mattel employees volunteered their services to help stage Dream Halloween, an annual fundraiser for the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation(CAAF). More than 1,300 people attended the event, including 250 children who either have AIDS or whose parents have AIDS. In its third year, the event raised more than $620,000 and featured costumed characters, a fun house,trick-or-treating activities, and continuous entertainment. One of the highlights of the evening one-of-a-kind Barbie® dolls which garnered $60,000 for CAAF. The highest bid for a single doll was $15,500 for a Bob Mackie original designed just for Dream Halloween (pictured at left).
