Well, here I am. That's me. Born Heisha Kathryn Hunter in Dallas, Texas USA on December 9, 1970. Before you get out the calculator, that makes me 27.

My first name is tricky. I'll bet you already looked twice and are wondering how in the world it's pronounced. Don't feel bad. My parents made it up and in my entire life, 5, yes that is only 5, people have been able to pronounce it correctly the first time. Heisha rhymes with the more common names like Stacia or the Japanese geisha. It's [Hay' sha]

The name Kate is a nickname my boyfriend gave me. It comes from the movie Taming of the Shrew starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

I graduated from high school at 16 and started junior college. When I turned 18, I transferred to Austin College in Sherman, Texas where I graduated with a B.A. in psychology in 1993. I have plans to further my education by obtaining my Ph.D. in psychology at Duke.

I do charity work for several causes. I am a on the Board of Directors of one nationwide charity to stop child abuse. I serve as Co-Chairman on a committee for a local charity to stop child abuse and I am the Founding President and C.E.O. of H.T.C.A., Inc. to stop animal abuse.

I am an ordained minister but I do not currently practice.

My career plans are to get my Ph.D. in psychology and go into private practice working with children. My background is mainly in working with abused and abandoned children. I also have retail management experience and I am a former professional model.

I have been in several pageants and was Miss Dallas 1988, Miss Sherman-Denison 1990, and was a Miss Texas contestant in 1991. While modeling, my picture appeared in places such as "D Magazine" (my favorite magazine print), The Dallas Morning News, The Dallas Times Herald, and Acknowledge. I have been a model in several fashion shows, some of them televised (one was televised live), others in front of audiences and all of them taped. More recently, I appeared in a television commercial.

I have a 4 year old son. His name is Austin, and he is the light of my life. He is autistic (he is functional) and I would love to hear from others who also have autistic children.

For those of you wondering, I am divorced. It was a short 3 year marriage. One day my husband hit me. I kicked him out and we got divorced. No abuse for me or my son!! I won't tolerate it. End of story.

I have 3 brothers. The oldest are twins. Rusty and Dustin (who has recently informed me that he prefers to be called Dusty) are 8. My baby brother, Alex, is 4. This means that I have a brother who is younger than my son!

I am 5'6, have long brown hair and brown eyes. Yes, my hair has always been this long. No, I will never cut it short.

I have several best friends. All of whom I have known for years. I have more male friends than female, but Tami is my closest friend. I have known her since we were 9 years old!

My favorite color is currently hunter green. I say currently because it changes a lot.

I have a genius level IQ and when I get around to it I am planning on joining Mensa.

I love all kinds of music from Mozart to Led Zeppelin. Just keep the country and rap -- I'll pass on them.

I drive a blue BMW. (Which is currently for sale. Know anyone who might be interested?) I also have a lead foot as they say, so if you see a blue BMW with Texas plates fly by you on the highway, it might be me!

I am very cranky in the morning. So call me around midnight if you want to talk. I won't be up at 8am!

I love any cute, furry animals. Especially persian cats. I don't have a pet right now because I travel too much to care for one properly.

I drink Coke so don't even bother to offer me a Pepsi.

I am honest to a fault. There is only one lie I have told that I can remember. That's pretty honest for 27 years of living. (Of course this doesn't include white lies like covering for a surprise birthday party.)

My perfume is Ysatis by de Givenchy.

I love the smells of Polo and Chaps on men. In fact, I will actually follow complete strangers around a store for a minute or two, just to smell that wonderful cologne! So, if you wear either of these, and some woman comes up to you and says "I love your cologne. It smells wonderful." it might be me!

If you believe in astrology, I am a Sagittarius. And I fit the description to a tee.

I am a happy person. I smile a lot. I am easily amused.

I am out-going and find it easy to speak with strangers.

I have a bad temper. My mother is a red head and I inherited her temper along with her pale skin and freckles.

I do not drink alcohol that often. But on special occasions and New Years Eve, I like white wine.

Skyler, my recent ex-boyfriend, says I am "high maintenance." He ranks me up there with Ivana Trump. We discussed this (I didn't agree) and I must say that I do have a lot in common with her.

When I am not entertaining friends, shopping, working on my column, writing my book, volunteering for worthwhile causes, or traveling, I can be found at the day spa. My idea of heaven on Earth is a 90 minute massage followed by an aroma therapy bath, a facial...

I love hosting dinner parties. I am a gourmet cook and thoroughly enjoy cooking for a group of friends.

I do not clean. That is what maids are for. In fact, in college, I was the only person in my dorm to have a maid freshman year. (That should probably be amended to say the only person in my class freshman year!)

My favorite foods are shrimp cocktail, chateaubriand, and bacon. My favorite restaurants are in Dallas. They are Antares, La Madeline, and Jennivine.

I am a very picky person. And that's an understatement!

I grew up a spoiled brat. Today, I am still spoiled, just no longer a brat!

I am very tender hearted. It doesn't take much to make me teary-eyed. Sad movies, happy movies, etc.

I am an outdoors person who goes stir crazy if I don't get out of the house every day.
