Smoke and Mirrors - A Profile

Me

My name is Tracey Brown. I'm a 23 year old student at Central TAFE in Perth, Western Australia. I'm currently enrolled in the Diploma in Business (Marketing) course.

The image to the right is of me and my friend Andree, and was taken in early November, by one of the lecturers at TAFE. We were given about 5 minutes notice before the picture was taken, so if we don't look so glamorous, you know why! Anyway, Andree and I were asked to write a quick Testamonial, and this was the image taken to go with it. The testamonial doesn't appear to be on the Central TAFE website yet, though. I'm the one on the left, by the way.

I'm a 'spam queen' - I'm the girl who loves Christmas, because it means buying, and more importantly, wrapping presents. I'm the girl who spent her highschool art classes creating elaborate notes and letters for friends. I was never particularly talented at drawing or painting real life objects, but I love inks, and photography. I've recently started scrapbooking, which is almost a good substitute for highschool art classes! I'm a visual-kinaesthetic kind of person.

Work

I am employed on a casual basis by Mazzucchelli's Jewellers as a Sales Associate. I *love* my job, although it can be very expensive! (Too many pretty, shiny things!)

I've previously worked in telecommucations, predominantly in credit (administration, assessment, collection, recovery), though I also did a brief stint in sales. Before that, I worked for a car dealership as a receptionist/hire car consultant, though I was also responsible for maintaining their website, and assisting their Director of Marketing.

Ultimately, I'd like to end up in a Marketing role, preferably on the PR side of things. I'm very much a people person, so I'd really like to do something that allows me to liaise with clients and the like.

Family

I live at home with my parents, brother and sister - although it might be more accurate to say that I commute between 'home' and my boyfriend's house. I spend more time there, but I don't officially live there. No plans to move house again any time soon. Short of getting married, I'm unlikely to move again unless it's:

  1. into my own home (one that I've purchased); or
  2. interstate (for work).

I'm unmarried, though I'm in a long-term relationship with a Software Engineer (nearly 5 years). We don't have any children at the moment (probably a good thing, considering all the commuting I do between our respective homes).
