Ezzy's Pontiac

My current car...

$700...that was the original price of my car. Three tone silver, red
pin-stipe, maroon interior, automatic transmission...non-running/non-
digital clock, radio stuck on one station, "high" on heating/AC not
working...My Jezzabelle!!
When I first bought her, the speedomiter didn't work, so it was knocked down to $675 because they old guy who sold it to me said it was just that I needed a new cable which would cost $25 anyway.
I don't have any pictures of Jezzy...not any of HER anyway. Here is Jezzy behind my dad's new (used) car. You can't see her very well, but she is one of those long "boat" cars!
Jezzy!
Where to start...? I might as well tell from the begining! :) My great aunt left me $2,500 in her will, and did not specify how it should be used (college, savings/trust, etc.) so I decided to buy a car. I looked in the classifieds, because I really didn't want to hassle with a dealership and papers and all that. I actually wanted an El Camino or truck, but they were all to highly priced...and of course, I needed some money left over for insurance and registration. I went thru about 5 different papers and looked at about 10 cars before I finally decided on Jezzy. Actually, for about 2 days, I debated on her and this other "boat" that was blue with beige-cream interior. It smelled of cigarette smoke (not that I mind that too much, but it was STRONG!) and it was a Ford. Yes, that last word was what finally made me choose Jezzy...it was in better condition, but I don't like blue cars anyway. We (me, my dad and my sister) went to get Jezzy. The guy had a brand new white Mersades parked next to her...it looked really weird! My dad asked if I wanted to test drive her, but since there was no speedomitor, I said no, cuz I had just barely gotten my learner's permit, and didn't feel that I knew enough about driving to know how fast I was going just by feel...my dad drove around the block a couple times, then we returned. My dad wrote a check, and I had to pay him back when we got home. After we had gotten out to the car this time, it was then that I realized that we had 2 cars to take home! I had driven my dad's car before, but it was a manual tranny, and I can barely drive a stick-shift!! I was so nervous that I killed it 3 times before I finally got to the stop sign about 100 feet from where we had parked! Anyway, I made it home okay, cuz my sis was riding with me, and she trusts me, so that made me feel better. When my dad went to put the new cable in the speedomitor, he found out that it was not just the cable, but 2 gears had been totally broken, and it turned out to cost about $150! Then my stearing gears were bad (bad seals or something) and that was about $200, and then a year later, when we got inspections, the brakes and shocks were...well, almost GONE! and that cost $600. So with everything, I've put about $1,000 into Jezzy in the first 2 years I had her. Then my insurance is $55 a month. I didn't actually get my license 'till 2 days before my 18th birthday. Not because I couldn't pass the test, but I just wouldn't go take it! Actually I had to take the driving test 3 times. The first time, I got 78 and the second time I got 76. You are supposed to get 80 to pass (in Utah, anyway) so I was about to go bazerk! I got really nervous when I drove with any- body but my dad and sister, so maybe thats why I couldn't get it. So I tried a third time, and I got 78...BUT the policeman (yes, an official cop! who was cute) said that if I was more carefull in the future, he'd give me an 80! It was so weird, because the other two guys who I drove with were my driver's Ed. coach, and some guy from the DMV...so it surprised me when the COP passed me, when actually I was not supposed to. If you want to get technical, you could say that I NEVER passed! :)
But I love Jezzy, even if she does have a leak or squeak here and there. Right now, the only problem she has, is a heater hose is leaking anti-freeze and it drips onto the engine, so when I stop from a trip of only about 5 miles, steam is pouring out from the hood. The "high" on the A/C-heater finally works! Me and my ex-boyfriend were driving down the road, and all of a sudden, it started. My dad had driven my car earlier that morning, and had re-set the controlls, although I don't know why, since he knew they didn't work.
I'm always complaining about my car, but really, as long as I get from point A to point B, I suppose thats good enough! Hopefully, I'll get an El Camino or at least a Chevy truck (or both!) someday. I haven't decided if I want to keep Jezzy or not...I'm one of those people who keep EVERYTHING!! You should see all the boxes in my storage room that are full of my stuff!

*sigh*
