In 1994 The American Model Collection was introduced - 20" long-limbed vinyl dolls, that were every bit as gorgeous as the porcelain figures but at price that was much more affordable for more collectors. These "little vinyl women" came dressed with the same Robert Tonner elegance and sophistication that collectors had grown to love and expect. A highly-styled taste discribed by Robert Tonner as "classic modern".

Since their introduction, the American Fashion Models have become quite well known, they are highly sought after by collectors from all walks of life, the average collector and celebrities alike. The Tonner Company introduces new additions to this collection yearly, usually consisting of 4-5 new dolls that are limited to a production of only 500 to 750 each.
