SPOON CLUBS

Spoon collectors have organized several clubs in different parts of the country. These

clubs are not for profit and are run by the collectors for their own benefit. New members

are always welcomed warmly.

There is usually a very small annual membership fee which covers the cost of the newsletter. Some of these clubs also sponsor local spoon or silver shows once a year.

There is usually a national convention once each year, but the location changes every year. The addresses of the clubs are subject to change at any time, but the clubs from different areas are usually in contact with each other. If you do not get a response from the club closest to you, contact the other clubs and they will be able to provide more current addresses or phone numbers. It is quite enjoyable to meet with other collectors to swap stories or spoons and to show off your latest “treasure”.

Furthermore most long term spooners are very friendly and knowledgeable and are happy to talk to new collectors.

If you are involved with a club (anywhere in the world) which is not listed here--email me with details and I will add it to this page.

PERIODICALS:

There are no regularly published commercial periodicals (except newsletters) devoted exclusively to spoons, but articles about spoons are frequently found in magazines devoted to various antiques or hobbies. The author of these articles can often direct new collectors to established spoon clubs.

Silver Magazine is the only regularly published periodical specializing in silver. It regularly

publishes articles about spoons.
