My favorite thing in the world is soccer. I love the sport & it is the only sport besides hockey that I am any good at. I play goalkeeper, but my natural postion is fullback (defense).

I started playing soccer in 4th grade, with a YMCA team at my school. That cotinued until 5th grade. After that, I didn't play soccer until the 8th grade, with another school in the AYSO league. In the fall season I played there, we went 5-3-1. Then in the spring season, we went 7-0, and 3-1 in the tournament, losing in the championship game. Then after that, a friend and I helped start a team at our school. It started out as a club for two years, then the school made it a varsity sport.

In our first varsity year, we went 5-8-3. We got mercied in the first round of the playoffs. I got nominated for the All-County 2nd Team for Barry County as goalkeeper. I was also selected as the teams Most Valuable Player.

In my second season, we went 8-8-1, with me getting 7 shutouts, setting the school record. I am mad because I was 1 save away from tying the record for most saves in a game in teh state of Michigan. Once again, however, we lost in the first round of the playoffs, but this was a closer game. We lost to our archrivals, 5-4 in Golden-Goal overtime. I didn't finish the regular season too well, so I didn't get any post-season honors. My play in the playoffs wasn't stunning either, and I think it is mainly because I was burned out of soccer too soon.

My dream is to one day play soccer at the varsity level in college. I recently went to a soccer camp at Michigan State University and had that dream shattered, at least as far as playing in a Division I school. That really stinks because Michigan State University is the one school I have my sights set on attending, and is a Division I school. Olivet College, a smaller, Division III school, has asked me to play soccer as goalkeeper for them, but I am not sure I want to because they do not offer myfield of study.
