Roger deWardt Lane, third generation hotel executive became interested in coins shortly after his young children started collecting foreign coins. Their interest soon waned and he continued the hobby. Selecting his daughter's specialty, he has assembled an extensive type and date collection of this series, which formed the basis of his studies of the subject.
Starting before the current catalogers had listed all dates, he had to research this information using his other numismatic interest - numismatic literature.
He is the author of a book on the subject - BROTHER CAN YOU SPARE A DIME? Modern Dime Size Silver Coins of the World with Footnotes to History, which is available on CD-rom.
