Ningbo is a small town by sea side. I went there by ship. Oh, what a terrible experience! It was hot in the day, and even hotter in the night; and the ship wasn't air-conditioned! I bet the temperature must be over 37°C in the compartment. So don't go by ship; go by bus, train or plane instead. I went there once by plane, it took only twenty minutes - I didn't even have time to realize that we had arrived.

Yangpu-1-196-3.jpg (3336 bytes)We set off by ship at 7:30 in the afternoon. The Yangpu Bridge, which links the Pu-Dong and Pu-Xi parts of Shanghai, looked quite fancy in the night. Actually I didn't expect this picture would even come out clear because the light was real dim and the ship was swinging.

There are also many temples in Ningbo. One of the most famous is called Tiantong (the Holy Child).

Begger-0-196-3.jpg (8650 bytes)We came into view of a begger on our way to the Tiantong Temple. This poor guy cried louder and louder when we approached; when some corns crunched into his bowl, he stopped a little while and then continued crying. The voice gradually faded out as we went away.
