Eyes Wide Shut is one cool movie. The orgy scene is just about
the most overhyped thing since......Jar Jar Binks. The scene is
very sedate, very low key, very unerotic.
Tom Cruise can cry, but the question remains....can he act? The
jury is in and the answer is "not guilty". Kidman, OTOH
is guilty.
A Sunday 7:45pm showing was sold out so they opened a second
theater and it sold out also. Nice to see people are going to see
something besides Adam Sandler and Star Bores.
This film has the atmosphere and look of The Shining. Fantastic
cinematography. The musical score was the worst thing about it.
That loud piano was intended, I guess, to be disconcerting. It
was just annoying.
Kubrick suceeded in one thing, as usual, people will talk about
this film. It is yet another flawed masterpiece.
