Return

Mission Implausible: Dex Big, loud and stupid. Things fly throught the air at varying speeds to no real effect. No suspense. No suprise. Nothing. Just stuff. Chimpmunk Boy is buffed to Ken Doll "perfection." And manages to be more boring than ever. (Kubrick really understood what he was doing when he cast Cruise.) Te question of "Did he do his own stunts" is moot in the digital image era. Lord but I'm tired of this crap. There's nothing to look at -- much less think about. Even for a passing moment. Thandie Newton (as The Girl)

appears to be in perpetual audition to play Eartha Kitt as a child. Brendan Gleeson as The Bad Guy, scowls well, but so what? The plot might be described as "Notorious"-lite. The bad guys steal a virus and an antidote for the virus. Bang, bang, bang. "But will we be able to save her in time?" Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Cue Lalo Schifrin.
