Return

Bossa Nova -- This silly Brasilian comedy aspires to be little more than a screwball comedy which has been done many times before. It does it well, with many laugh out loud lines, and believable mistaken identity subplots. Bruno Baretto directs an excellent cast, including his significant other (Amy Irving -- an actress I've truly missed).

The opening lists Sony as distributor, leading me to believe this may come around to local theatres later this year. Roughly half the dialogue is in English, and half in Portuguese with subtitles. 3 1/2 planets (out of 4).
